Bruce Hodge
Managing Director

Mr. Hodge is a founder and principal of Pender West and a partner in CWC Acquisitions Inc.  Mr. Hodge has over 30 years experience in investment and merchant banking including financial reorganizations, capital raising and mergers and acquisitions.  In 1989, Mr. Hodge was a founding partner of CWC Capital Ltd., an investment/merchant banking firm providing corporate financial advisory services to middle market private companies located in Western Canada and the Northwest United States.  Prior to forming CWC, Mr. Hodge was a Vice-President and Director of Pemberton Securities Inc., a fully integrated investment banking firm.

Mr. Hodge is an active member of the board of each of the Pender West portfolio companies, participating in the strategic enhancements of each company.  Mr. Hodge holds an MBA degree from the University of Western Ontario and a M.A. (Economics) degree from Queens University.

John Zaplatynsky
Managing Director

Mr. Zaplatynsky is a founder and principal of Pender West, and is the President and CEO of Canada GardenWorks Ltd.  GardenWorks is a privately-owned and operated retail garden centre with seven retail stores located in the Lower Mainland of B.C. and on Vancouver Island.

Mr. Zaplatynsky successfully expanded GardenWorks from the initial acquisition of one garden centre in 1984 to one of the largest businesses of its kind in Canada.  Mr. Zaplatynsky has been active in the past on numerous boards and associations including the Chair of the Retail Merchants Association of B.C., President of B.C.Landscape and Nursery Association, President of the Canadian Nursery and Landscape Association and as a board member of Mountain Equipment Co-op.  He currently serves as a Director on the Boards of Sungro Horticulture Income Fund, Premium Brands Holdings Corporation and Contech International Incorporated.

Mr. Zaplatynsky holds a BSc from the University of Manitoba.

Wade Flemons
Managing Director

Mr. Flemons is a founder and principal of Pender West and a partner in CWC Acquisitions Inc.  Mr. Flemons has over 25 years of experience in all areas of investment banking and merchant banking and has been involved in all aspects of investment banking activities including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, financial restructuring, financial modeling, corporate valuations, and strategic evaluations.  Mr. Flemons was a partner with CWC Capital Ltd. since its formation in 1989 and previously worked in the corporate finance group of Pemberton Securities Ltd.  Prior to his work at Pemberton, Mr. Flemons worked as a management consultant with Price Waterhouse.

Mr. Flemons is an active director of the board of each of the Pender West portfolio companies, participating in the strategic enhancements of each company.  Mr. Flemons holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario.

Rod Senft
Director

Mr. Senft is a founder and principal of Tricor Capital, Inc.  He is an active member of the board of a number of the Tricor portfolio companies, participating in the strategic enhancements of each investment. 

Until 1993, Mr. Senft was a partner of Davis & Co., one of Vancouver’s leading law firms, where he worked for 14 years.  Prior to moving to Vancouver in 1978, Mr. Senft was Secretary and General Counsel for Cargill (Canada) Inc. based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Prior to joining Cargill he also practiced law with the firm of Thompson, Dorfman, Sweatman.

Mr. Senft obtained his Law and Business Administration Degrees from the University of Manitoba.
